American Veneer Edgebanding Company, Inc./USA (A.V.E.C.),was established in Heath, Ohio, in 1997. A.V.E.C. distributes veneer edgebanding products especially to the North American furniture industry. Our modern humidity controlled warehouse facility is conveniently located close to I-70 and the Columbus International Airport. We carry a huge selection of wood species in various sizes and widths in stock at all times. This allows us to quickly respond to our customer needs.

Multi-layered thick veneer edgebanding in continuous rolls has been produced by Heitz since 1979. Veneer in multiple layers is glued together by high capacity presses up to 5mm in thickness. The multi-layered construction with finger jointed middle layers ensures the highest possible flexibility. We produce all thick veneers in continuous rolls with PVAc glues, guaranteeing excellent qualities in regards to flexibility and milling.
Standard surface sanding to 180 grit saves time consuming finishing work during the application process. The back is sanded with 40grit, which ensures highly reliable adhesion.
Multi-layered thick veneer strips are available up to 60mm thick and 4.200mm long. Thick veneer strips are the perfect subsitute for solid wood egebanding. The multi-layered construction enables worry free application while maintaining continuous veneer quality.

Pre-finished edgebanding is becoming more and more important to the manufacturing sector due to increased restrictions regarding the emission of solvents. Emissions can considerably be reduced by using pre-finished edgebanding.
UV-Finish:

- Especially suited for swift industrial manufacturing
Water based Finish:
- Used for wrapping grade or softforming veneers
- Used on difficult profiles and tight radii

Our wrapping grade and softforming veneers with special backing enforcements and customized sanding allow the processing of complicated profiles and smallest radii. Our products are manufactured in close cooperation with our customers. Based upon their requirements we use various fleece and adhesive applications (e.g. PUR-adhesive). Customized sanding down to 300u thickness creates a worry free product.
Special finishing systems were developed for wrapping and softforming veneers, offering a range from clear ground finishes to completely finished color matches.
